AMBUSH AT BEASEJOUR...
Visiting Another Historic Race Track and the Return of the Polaris RXL!

History keeps being made at the historic Beausejour race track... at left is a hood from the 1966 race. Center, Champ 440 winner DUSTIN WAHL on his 2007 Polaris RXL! At right, Dustin at speed, slamming into turn one close to 100 MPH.
Mr. Hortness was running hot all day - very hot. It looked like he was going to walk away with it all, with a commanding 1/2 lap lead. On the infield, we smelled burning rubber as he went by, and a lap or two later, he was off onto the bails, putting Dustin Wahl into first place.
The start of the 440 Champ feature race was very dramatic. On the left, the scene coming into turn one, just seconds before disaster struck. Moyle, PJ, Terry Wahl and two others all went into the bales. A split second later, PJ was up and letting the crowd know all was well. Terry Wahl rushed to the aid of another driver. No one was hurt, and racing resumed. It's clear this is one of the safest tracks there is.
Two new members to Wahl Racing: Brandon Johnson running pro-stock, and Jordan Wahl running Juniors. This was Jordan's first race on a full-size sled after dominating the mini-sleds for a couple of years. He finished a respectable 2nd in his final. It sure looks like an updated version of the "Midnight Blue Express" on the right, as cousins Terry and Dustin Wahl lined up in the pits for the final.
Durmont Wahl (left & Center) and Dave Wahl (right) doing what they've done best for the last 25+ years:
Making sleds go very, very fast.
I didn't catch Nick's name (Above) but I did catch his performance on the track. Very impressive. Kenny Kitzman about to try out his Champ racer for the first time in 06-07. He grenaded a motor - the rod was completely wrapped around the crank! Matt Schulz on his Kersten Racing Polaris sleds.
P.J. Wanderscheid (left & center) and Gary Moyle represented Arctic Cat very well.

Durmont and Terry look on prior to the final. This sweet looking Cat even had the old SnoPro decals on it.
