Location: Montrose MI Date: Aug 15, 2009 Time: 7 AM
It's official, folks!! We have been approved for not only a show -- BUT A SWAP TOO!! W00t!!

Our meeting with the festival committee went splendedly marvelous tonight! They are extremely excited to have us this year! The only thing that will differ is we have to charge to hold our event. Now now.. don't get too upset. The fee will be ..are you ready? $5 to show AND swap. For instance. I'm billy bob, and I'm bringing jimmy joe. I live in Montrose, and I want to show 10 sleds..and swap too. The fee is?! $5. Period. Flat rate for the person who is showing and swapping. Families are the same. Daddy's showing?! That's great!! The rest of the family gets to be there for free. We are setting up right in the heart of the festival -- directly next to a carnival, and within walking distance of the flea market, craft show, AND BEER/ENTERTAINMENT TENT in the park. Parking is 100% free.

We are still accepting donations for the Open Cupboard Food Pantry in Downtown Montrose, and the proceeds of the 50/50 raffle, and sled raffle (if we have one) will all benefit the pantry. The registration fee benefits the Montrose Blueberry Festival Fund, and is 100% donated back into the community with programs like scholarships, the schools, the library, the food pantry, beautifying the blueberry park, and more.

Camping is available for $20 for the entire weekend. If you would like a camping application, please get ahold of us. The camping area is within walking distance of the show & swap.

The official date of the event is Saturday, August 15th 2009. Setup is at 7 AM. The swap and show will continue from 8am - 5pm. We will be having a float in the parade! Everyone is more than welcome to walk or ride with us! We also need mucho volunteers. Interested?? Contact us! Location:

The Corner of Nichols Rd (Saginaw St. in downtown) and Hickory St.

150 N. Saginaw Street
Montrose, Michigan 48457

Enterance will be on Hickory St. in a large parking lot. Map of the location: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=150+N.+Saginaw+Street,+Montrose,+Michigan+48457&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=31.564064,56.25&ie=UTF8&ll=43.178706,-83.891795&spn=0.007088,0.013733&z=16&iwloc=A

If you're interested in vending (organizations, companies, etc) please let us know so we can save you a spot. The Winning Edge Magazine will be on the premesis, and we are looking for more vendors!

RULES ARE (everyone has to have rules, let's face it: )

1. NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ARE PERMITTED IN THE SHOW & SWAP AREA. We are in a school zone on school property. They have zero tollerance laws, and if you'd like a beverage, like I said, there's a beer tent in the park.

2. NO DRUGS OR DRUG PARAPHERNALIA ALLOWED IN THE SHOW & SWAP AREA. This is obvious as per school zone above.

3. NO PUBLIC INTOXICATION. The police will be called. You have been warned.

4. The only riding of sleds permitted is to load and unload from trucks and trailers. Sleds may be started all day long, however they are not permitted to be ridden on the grass. Anyone caught doing so will be removed from the swap & show without warning.

5. Respect the property. Please put trash and cigarette butts in their place. We have to make sure to clean up the property before and after the show & swap.

6. ABSOLUTELY NO JUNK. The committee was very strong with this. We cannot admit trailers full of obvious complete junk. Only usable parts, paraphernalia, and snowmobiling related items are permitted. WHAT ISN'T PERMITTED: Harbor freight special trailers (you know what I mean,) anything related to drugs and alcohol, anything not related to snowmobiling, general flea market items (ie baby clothes etc,) and anything else the management sees unfit for the show & swap.

7. No food or beverages may be sold or purchased from our swap & show. This is per Genesee County's Health Department, and the Blueberry Festival Committee. This also means that if your son or daughter is selling candy bars for a sports team or any other group, we cannot allow you to bring the products into our area. There are food vendors nearby if you get hungry. Coolers from home, food purchased at the super market, festival food, and all forms of fast food (There is a Mickey D's, Subway, as well as a couple pizza places and sit down type family places nearby) are all acceptable. Be sure to check out the Blueberry Pancake breakfast every morning of the Festival!!

8. Children must be in full view of the parent at all times. We don't want someone's kid tripping over a ski and ending up in the hospital.

9. Be respectful of others' property. Please don't sit or lean on someone else's sled without asking. This is common courtesy.

10. Have fun!! This is our first event, and the committee would love to see us back next year if everything works out.

We're asking for pre-registrations, however it is not necessary. Registration fee is the same at the door or pre-register. We're just trying to get a general idea of how many people to make spaces for. We will post a form online shortly with payment instructions and whatnot. If at any time you have any questions, feel free to send us a message or call at (810) 639-3476.

We look forward to seeing you there!!

Cindy & Steve

“ Vintage Daze ”

Classic Tracks is pleased to forward this information package to better inform you of the Vintage Daze Snowmobile and ATV Show. For 2009 the show will be open to public on Saturday September 12, 10 am to 6 pm and Sunday September 13, 10 am to 6pm.

Vintage Daze will be held at the Selby Auction Arena, in Selby Ontario, only 5 mins. North of Napanee on Highway 41. There is 37,000 square feet of outdoor sites for used snowmobile vendors, manufactures and dealership displays.

At the show you will see the latest in snowmobile technology, gear, clothing, accessories, performance products, trailers and equipment for the upcoming season. As well, the largest Vintage Snowmobile Flea Market, Shine and Show, Vintage Snowmobile Auction and coming in 2010, sanctioned Grass Drag Racing.

Everyone is welcome to participate in the show by either entering sleds into the Shine and Show Competition for Sponsorship awards and cash prizes, or you can sell snowmobiles in the Vintage Snowmobile Auction held on Sunday. If you have many parts and used sleds to sell you could rent a 15 x 15 foot vendors space for the entire weekend and display your goods. Each event can be explained in detail upon your request.

Vintage Daze is an event that the whole family will enjoy, with lots of attractions and displays not to mention that good ole chip truck with alls it’s tasty treats. Come and see the restored snowmobiles that you and your family rode when you where a kid. Check out the sleds for sale and get a head start on your 2009 winter season. Whatever the reason, mark these dates on your calendar and be sure to come early to get all the best deals being offered.

For complete information including application for rental space and other events at the show, just send your request and we will forward the package to you as soon as possible.

EAGLE RIVER DERBY TRACK

A classic snowmobile show without the snow! Judged displays, swap meet, vendor exhibits and vintage grass drag racing.

TWO BIG DAYS!

Things get started Friday at noon. Shop the swap area, visit vendor booths for the newest in snowmobile accessories and equipment then reserve a lot of time to explore the classics—sleds shinny and polished, waiting for the judges’ review.

Best of all will be the snowmobile grass drag races. These venerable old machines from an earlier era will put on an incredible demonstration of dirt throwing power in the races that go on into the evening.

You probably will want to return on Saturday. The gates open at 9:00 a.m. and you can check all the things you missed. Stay around and celebrate with the weekend winners. It all happens in the Derby Expo Hall. The Last Lap Saloon will be open, for refreshments and sociable gathering.

For a “cool” weekend, come see “snowmobiles in summer.”

2010 Classic Vintage Weekend Presented By WOODY'S Jan. 8th -10th
Vintage World Champion to receive coveted American Snowmobiler Magazine American Eagle Trophy

The Classic Vintage Weekend will once again open the “Derby Week” this year. The vintage action starts Friday, January 8th 2010.
Vintage racing is fast closing in on its contemporary counterparts and matching the entry numbers of current snocross and ice oval competitors. For the last seven years, the venerable machines of yesterday have started the season with their own weekend of Classic Vintage Racing at the Derby Track. (Jan. 8th -10th) “It’s impressive and extremely entertaining to watch sleds from 6, 7, 8, even more manufacturers all in one race together,” said Mark Savage, editor of American Snowmobiler. Each year The Vintage World Champion is awarded the sparkling American Eagle Trophy from American Snowmobiler magazine at the end of the festivities. Last year Tony Pettinelli Jr from Rome NY. won the trophy, and this year it’s up for grabs again!

This style of racing has come a long way from its first appearance in 1991 at the Derby and in 2008 another publication recognized the event’s prominence, as Snowgoer called it the ‘Snowmobile Event of the Year.’ The machines are meticulously restored, engines are tuned and reliable, and the racers themselves look sharp in leathers from several eras and contemporary race gear. The closeness of the competition is highly reminiscent of the “good old days.”
Recently the term “Classic” was put in front of “Vintage” thereby making this the Classic Vintage Weekend at the Derby and it lives up to that term. The iron you’ll see on the ice oval is superbly restored and in many cases hand-built. Fans will recognize popular racers still circling the ice, including World Champions Jacques Villeneuve and Chuck Decker. But there are dozens of serious race teams that work tirelessly from their impressive race haulers to get their sleds in tip-top condition, and the races are always exciting

No other race facility treats drivers better than the Derby. The trophies are the biggest, the winners take home more money, and racers even get to take home their commemorative checkered flags.

2010 47th Running of the Amsoil Eagle River World Championship Snomobile Derby
Venue: JANUARY 14th - 17th

The famed Eagle River Derby will be forty-seven years old in January, and it just keeps getting better with age.

The Derby’s beginning in 1964 was inspired by a drive to create a tourist draw and an impetus to the then slow and economically deprived winter season. Ten Eagle River businessmen, each anted up $1,000 to give their community a leg up on the rest of the snow bound states. They were successful beyond their own expectations. Today’s “Derby” is recognized around the world as the biggest and grandest snowmobile race, anywhere. When the 2010 Derby opens its gates, fans will be treated to a plethora of wintery motorized action.

While the Derby is best known for presentation of premier ice oval racing, it has also given spectators other variations of snowmobile competition. The very first Derby was a short cross country, that employed a modest hill in its route. By 1965, neighboring Rhinelander got on the band wagon, with a 35 mile cross country between the two towns. At Dollar Lake, the initial site of the Derby, the short cross country, an obstacle slalom and a hill climb were all facets of the competition. But the highlight of the event was a ten lap oval race on the ice of the lake.

The 1966 Derby was plagued by warm weather and a “slushy” Dollar Lake for a race track. It was apparent to the sponsoring Lions Club that they’d have to move it to a land site. Several acres close to town, fronting on Highway 45, was leased (later purchased) and Eagle River became one of the few places that had an oval track constructed for a single purpose snowmobile track. At that time, most oval races were run on frozen lakes and cross country, the other popular form of competition, only needed farmer’s fields or wooded acreage. The Derby was already “ahead of its time” and showing the young industry that Eagle River was going to lead the way in snowmobile race presentation.

Fast forward forty six years and you have the World Championship Snowmobile Derby® of today. The twenty acres on Highway 45 have turned into a first class motor sports headquarters. The race and the stature it has earned, is the primary reason that Eagle River has the trademarked title “Snowmobile Capital of the World®.”

When the 2010 version opens its gate, it will be for a ten day “show.” Opening weekend, January 8th thru January 10th, will get everything started with three days of “old time” racing as classic and vintage sleds once again test driver’s talents and machine superiority. Don’t think you’ll be watching some “old iron” that got dragged out of the barn. The Vintage racers ride meticulously restored machines that are more mechanically dependable than the day they were built. Vintage racing is fast becoming a great racing format and a super spectator experience.

Mid-week (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday) is a chance for race fans to get out on the sno-cross course themselves, visit with incoming race teams and even get in some trail riding.

Thursday (January 14) Championship racing starts in earnest, with time World Championship time trails. And then Oval and Sno Cross qualifying.

Friday is a full day of blistering qualifying action in both oval and sno-cross. The excitement peaks during the Parts Unlimited Friday Night Thunder undisputedly the best show in snowmobile racing. There’s Mini 120 races, Sweet Sixteen pole position Qualifying and the Ultimax Pro Sno-Cross Open. Returning, by popular demand…the Big Bore Motorcycles. Be here early for the spectacular fireworks opening at 7:00 p.m. sharp.

The tempo does not slow on Saturday as the all-important Championship qualifying takes the stage.

Sunday is the climax to the intense competition of the preceding days. IT’S CHAMPIONSHIP DAY! This is the day that everyone comes for—both racers and fans alike.

Don’t miss the grandest “old” race in all of snowmobiling.

Save on advanced super tickets. Reserve your indoor Hot Seats or park your motor home track side. Call the Derby track office at 715-479-4424 or go online at www.derbytrack.com for more information.
