Rich PedersonThe ZedShed collection of Rich Pederson.

Rich loves the old race sleds. It's tough to call a guy a collector when he started accumulating sleds when they were still new, but with this many sleds what else can you call him? Racer, race fan, mechanic, restoration guru, fanatic? They all fit.

Last winter Rich attended, and displayed his sleds, at a barstool race in Drummond Wisconsin. The local radio station reporter spotted Rich and came over to interview him. "How long have you been collecting vintage snowmobiles?" she asked. "They were'nt vintage when I bought them was Rich's reply.

Rich at one time sold off all of his snowmobiles, but a short time later he got a little lonely and started buying them up all over again. He also remodeled the building to have a large, heated display area, a large parts storage area, a full size shop and a nice little gathering room for special occasions and the shooting of the breeze.

His most recent project includes the ZedShed Hauler. It's a restored semi used to take the party (and the sleds!) on the road to races and shows.

The coolest part of Rich's collection is the fact that the vast majority of these sleds run - just dump some gas in and go, an Rich does that whenever he can. He still races and sponsors racers, and is a big supporter of the hobby. He recently picked up a 78 SSR (not pictured) out of New York - making his collection of 78 SnoPros complete.

I'd like to thank Rich for letting me rummage around his ZedShed and learn about all the sleds - what a fun day that was!

Rich isn't interested in selling any of the collection but he's always open to interesting trades. You email Rich direct.
