Mark Tande could be the most Western collector we'll see. Living in Northern California, Mark does not get much of a chance to mingle with fellow vintage sled nuts. But they do get plenty of snow up where he lives and his riding season is likely longer them most of ours here in the Midwest. Mark did however, come all the way from California to Roseau, MN for the Polaris 50th in June of 2004.

The unrestored 65 below is the first sled Mark ever drove himself. Mark won't restore this baby, the memories are perfect as is. The 67 alpine is the first sled Mark was given a ride on in December of 1966. He found it in a dry kilm behind a family friends house 30 years later and it had not been out since that first year! The cover is still new and soft.

The 70 belonged to Mark's friend's and they rode the snot out of it from winter of 1969/70 until spring 73. Its all the way he left it but for a re-done hood. All Mark's best memories seem to be on the old bubble-nosed, bumble-bee doos. He loves them and they are directly responsible for his affliction.

These are not all of Mark's sleds - I know he has some beauties warming up in the bull-pen, so this collection will be updated when photos are available.

You can email Mark - he loves to hear from others afflicted with the dreaded vintage sled disease.
